Quality, a permanent objective

Over 50 years at the head of Quality

Vicente Peris is one of the leading fruit and vegetable distribution companies with the greatest recognition and prestige in the Spanish market. Our careful selection is appreciated by both well-known chefs and all households that enjoy authentic flavours. Both Vicente Peris and his descendants have been, and still are, among the few experts with such deep knowledge of the farming and selection of the best fruit and vegetables. We base our philosophy on offering maximum quality to each one of our customers, providing them with the best and freshest products available in the market.

We consider it our duty to collaborate in spreading the word among our consumers and citizens in general about the importance of acquiring healthy habits. Throughout the years we have shared with Spanish households, we have tried to adapt our produce to the needs and tastes of a society that is in constant evolution. Listening to consumers, discovering their wishes and satisfying their expectations quickly and efficiently form one of our main commitments.

A bit of history

Not too long ago, when fruit and vegetables replaced vineyards, one of the fruits that best adapted to the land, bringing great fame to Cuiper, was the melon. The proximity of the sea impregnated the soil with saltpetre and for this reason, the melons acquired their characteristic flavour. The best dealers in Valencia used to come and buy their produce here. One of the citizens in Cuiper found the activity so interesting, he decided he wanted to become a dealer. Ramón Peris Orts displayed such an extraordinary trading instinct it made him realise that to conquer markets, the seriousness of what was said, coupled with the quality of the product offered, was extremely important. Consequently, he applied these virtues to his commercial activities until he had acquired a recognised and accredited prestige.

The beginnings

Not only did the Civil War unsettle the whole nation, it also affected the people. In 1944, when everything seemed to be getting back to normal again, the owner of an important market stall in Barcelona, Joaquin Crumols, contacted Ramón Peris to try and convince him to return to the melon trade, of such well-known fame, but instead, he suggested his brother, Vicente Peris, should take the helm of the business. They started work by accrediting a select brand of melon, called 18 QUILATES (18 CARATS).

Today

Around 1980, Vicente Peris’ children took over the exclusive control of the business. Under their management, the company grew so much that they managed to become the most important dealers in Spain of this variety of melon. Remaining loyal to the same style of exigency and selection, they promoted other brands with the same level of quality, such as VICENTÍN, ORO DE CUIPER and PERIS, which were soon widely accepted by all the markets in the most important Spanish cities, and today they still hold the maximum distinction.
