White celery is one of the great discoveries of the wellness kitchen. It is a gourmet specialty perfectly adapted to new tastes, due to its outstanding personality and the absence of calories and nutritional contribution. On a gastronomic level, white celery is much lighter, less bitter and aniseed-like than green celery.

In cooking it is used for fresh consumption, as an ingredient in smoothies, salads or as a snack for ‘dipear’ accompanied by sauces. Also in soups, meat stews and vegetable creams it provides a very appreciated differential touch.

The variety of celery with the mildest flavor

At Peris we are specialists in white celery and we sell it all year round. Thanks to the versatility of our facilities, we offer it in different formats. The cultivation of white celery is very demanding and requires a lot of effort and experience to obtain bushes of firm white stalks with a mild and delicate flavor.

We mainly plant celery of the Golden, Spartan and, occasionally, Loretta varieties during the spring-summer season. The cultivation and harvesting of celery begins in the Valencian Community in autumn, in the Region of Murcia in winter and spring, and in Castilla-La Mancha in summer.

All of this, in crops certified under the GlobalG.A.P. standard, in the field and in storage.

In the first range(I range) we can find it in branch with its leaves, or only in stems, both in bags and in compostable trays. In the fourth range (
pre-prepared convenience food
) we offer packaged and sliced white celery, with cut or sliced stalks .White celery can be consumed raw with a light sauce or as an ingredient in smoothies, salads, and also in creams or stews.

White celery stick

The branches arrive from the plantation to be washed and cut. It is prepared in boxes containing between 10 and 14 bushes. It is intended for greengrocers and large consumers.

Before being bagged, the bushes are adapted to the buyers’ requirements in terms of stem weight and height. This product is mainly intended for supermarkets.

This format adjusts its weight and size to the usual consumption of a family. The leaves are practically eliminated, leaving the stems whiter.

Crunchy, pre-cut stalks of soft white celery for dipping or cooking. A pre-prepared convenience food format to enjoy the best of celery and facilitate its immediate consumption.

Health properties of white celery

White celery is a vegetable with health benefits known since ancient Greece. One of its main components is potassium, a mineral that contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system and muscles, as well as to the maintenance of normal blood pressure.

In addition, celery is a source of vitamin K and folates. Vitamin K contributes to normal blood coagulation and to the maintenance of normal bones.

On the other hand, folic acid (also known as folate or vitamin B9) contributes to the growth of maternal tissues during pregnancy, to the normal synthesis of amino acids, to the normal functioning of the immune system, and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
