Sport and fruit are a combo that we love in Peris, so we do not hesitate to study with great affection all proposals for collaboration that come our way. And one of them is very special for us, because it has been going on for several years and its bases are really special. We are referring to the collaboration we have with the Claret Benimaclet Basketball Club, from Valencia.
Our contribution is simple: fresh, ready-to-eat fruit at campuses and events organized throughout the year. But behind this action there is something more. In fact, much more. We collaborate in their Easter, summer and Christmas technical campuses. We are also present at the closing of the season and in special events such as the inclusive competitions organized for people with disabilities. In all of them they enjoy Frutifreshor, in other words, quality fruit, peeled and sliced, served in tubs and ready to eat. Fruit that nourishes and also educates.
Educate… This part is essential. Because in Peris we are very clear that good habits are sown from an early age. And if there is a place where this is worked with care, it is in this club.
The Claret Benimaclet Basketball Club, a team with a long history
The Claret Basketball Club has more than 35 years of history, more than 500 active players and more than 50 coaches. But the fact that most captivates us is its way of understanding the sport: with education, respect, inclusion and a lot of teamwork. Here, basketball is not only planned with victory in mind, we work with the objective of forming people, also in eating habits.
And that, of course, touches our hearts. We feel part of that commitment. Maybe because we have also been doing things with consistency for decades, taking care of every detail, betting on quality and always trying to do it a little better. Or maybe because, like them, we believe in the power of small gestures: a good tub of fruit at the perfect moment, for example.
A collaboration that makes perfect sense
We recently spoke with Juan Fuentes, president of the club, and his words gave even more meaning to our collaboration: “For our club it is a pleasure and a luxury to be able to associate our activities with a company like Peris, because it helps us to complement our objectives of promoting sport and healthy living with healthy eating”.
Juan also told us that the children and teenagers in the club love the Frutifresh fruit. They are very happy to receive it and the feedback from the families is always positive. That makes us very happy.
When we asked him what he believes we share as entities, his answer delighted us: “Teamwork, the promotion of activities and healthy eating, the commitment to what we do and what we want to transmit, integration in all aspects of life…”.
And yes, that’s where we are. Because we also believe in all that. Hopefully we can continue walking together for many more years. Because we like this team. Because we share the same philosophy. Because, somehow, fruit is also part of the game.
